The workshop aims to enable individuals, churches and Christian organisations involved in the ministry of pastoral care, to develop their understanding and application of good practice, so that it can be offered safely, effectively and with integrity. It looks at the benefit of working within a framework for Good Practice and includes a Biblical understanding of pastoral care, the ethical responsibilities of the carer, the importance of looking after boundaries not least confidentiality, the management of dual relationships and support for the carer.

(Note: The workshop acknowledges the importance of Safeguarding but assumes and advises that Safeguarding training is a requirement for pastoral carers and will be the responsibility of churches and organisations to provide.)

A Participant Workbook is provided.
